Meet Our Staff
Dr.Donal McCafferty, MB, B Ch. MICGP, Prinicpal
Donal has been in General Practice in the Mount Merrion area since 1986. He is a graduate of University College Dublin and is originally from Derry. Donal is very active in the Irish College of General Practitioners having served as Honorary Treasurer. He was a member of the Host Organising Committee for the World GP Conference (WONCA) in Dublin in 1998 serving as Chairman of the Sponsorship Committee. He continues to serve on the Finance Committee and the Postgraduate Training Committee of the Irish College of General Practitioners.
Following a Research Fellowship in Cardiology in St. James' University Hospital, sponsored by the HSE, he continues his interest in Cardiology as a member of the Medical Committee of the Irish Heart Foundation and as an Instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support. He holds a Higher Diploma in Dermatology (U.C.D.) and runs a regular skin clinic. He is a member of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medecine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Dr. McCafferty is a trainer on the Postgraduate GP Training Scheme affiliated with U.C.D. which involves the training of qualified doctors in the the speciality of Family Medicine/General Practice. Dr. McCafferty holds dual-registration on the General and Specialist Register of the Medical Council of Ireland which involves the training of qualified doctors in the speciality of Family Medicine/General Practice and holds the academic rank of Clinical Lecturer.
Finola Harrington, Nurse
Nurse Finola Harrington, RGN, is a native of Mount Merrion and joined the practice in 2008. She trained at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin and is Irish and New York State registered.
Breda
O’Brien, Receptionist / Secretary
Breda joined the Practice in the year 2000. Breda joined the practice in 2000 following years of experience in a well-established GP practice in the area.
Judith Colman, Receptionist / Secretary
Judith joined the practice in 2007 following several years working in Administration in St. Vincent's University Hospital, Dublin.
Gemma Slattery, Receptionist / Secretary
Gemma joined the practice in 2007 following several years in management/personnel.
BrÓna Nic Amhlaoibh, Practice Manager
Bróna Nic Amhlaoibh M.A. is a graduate of University College Dublin and holds a Diploma in General Practice Management. She joined the Practice in 2009.
